6th and 7th Grade

Objective: Scholars will be able to organize data in Open Office Calc.

Warm-up:

A spreadsheet is primarily used for

a. making invitations
b. making slideshows
c. organizing data
d. making a flier for a business

Graphs and charts are useful because they let us look at information visually. What is one subject area where graphs and charts help you understand the material? How do the graphs and charts help with that subject?

8th Grade

Objective: Scholars will be able to define their roles within their business.

Warm-up: (Answer it in your blog)

Which of the following is the least important consideration when starting your business:

a. How much money it will cost to start your business
b. Finding a target group to which you will direct your marketing
c. Creating a mission statement
d. Being able to triple your money within three weeks

What is your ideal role within your business? For example, you may want a leadership role, such as a chairman, president, or CEO. Or, you may want another important role that may have less responsibility, such as a salesperson or a technician or a customer service representative. You can also create your own role or write about one that is not listed here. What is your role and why? Answer in at least two sentences.

Write the warm-up in your blog.

Objective: Scholars will be able to create their company and their mission statement.

Warm-up: Pick a company that you know something about. What does this company sell? Who do they target with their advertising? How much are their products or services?
